The Other Kennedy
John and Bobby are legends the world over. But there is another Kennedy brother that has been doing great work through the years and I am sooo happy that I can say I’ve lived on Cape Cod, on the same strip of land that the Kennedys have their estate and spend many a happy summer in.
Senator Ted Kennedy has had bad rap when he was younger, I guess that comes with being in the shadow of your more famous older siblings. However, through the years, he has brokered so many deals in the Senate, and for the state of Massachusetts that I am in awe. It is thanks to him that a huge strip of cape cod seashore is now declared under the management of National Seashore and are being preserved and kept pristine and natural.
It is thanks in large part to him that there is MassHealth for people who can’t afford insurance in Massachusetts. He makes things happen, he works tireless in the background to push for services that would benefit ordinary people. And he’s from Cape Cod too. Yeah!
Okay, so I’m not a native, but I do love it here and been to the Kennedy Park a lot. Bleh.
