Meme - The Answer to Bloggers Block

First off, what the F** is a meme?! I asked when I was first tagged with it. And who the F** cares if I answer a bunch of standard question and tag somebody else?!! Huh? Huh?!

Apparently, somebody does care. A lot of somebodies! LOL, what a newbie blogger I was. Hokey, from Wikipedia, meme is,

A meme (pronounced /mi?m/), as defined by memetic theory, constitutes a theoretical unit of cultural information, the building block of culture or cultural evolution which spreads through diffusion propagating from one mind to another analogously to the way in which a gene propagates from one organism to another as a unit of genetic information and of biological evolution.[1] Multiple memes may propagate as cooperative groups called memeplexes (meme complexes).

In blogging lingo, it’s viral tagging. Sorta. Somebody somewhere thinks of a question and tags other bloggers to answer it. Which then spreads to other blogs. Weekly memes are popular and more organized, take for example Thursday Thirteen which I recently joined and am posting over at Kalesa ni Maria and Wordless Wednesday here on Maria Finds. I think it’s kinda cool to just post a pic and let it do the talking at least once a week.

Anyway, memes are a great way of filling in a gap when you are clueless about what to write. It’s also great for social networking. Surfing other blogs brings new ideas and angles on subjects that you would like to post about.

So happy meme day!
