Entrecard - Totally Addicting

First there was Techonrati, then Digg, then Stumble Upon … move over folks, here comes Entrecard, social networking with a twist!

I first read about Entrecard in one of Darren Rowse’s feeds about this really cool social media which bloggers can use to freely advertise their blogs. Simply put, Entrecard is your virtual business card [entrepreneur cards]. The system allows you to put up your 125×125 banner and description just like what you’d do with a paper business card, the exciting part is in connecting bloggers in one place to meet and socialize via the card “drops” you make. Minus the uncertainty of a soiree.

What’s in it for you? TRAFFIC. Huge amount of traffic, but only if you do the legwork. I’ve been doing Entrecard for only a week or so and the amount of traffic I’ve received has increased 500%. More importantly, I’m creating exposure for my blogs and it’s amazing [and definitely gratifying!] to come across people who really like my blog and keeps coming back to read what I have to say. Weee!

Second, Entrecard allows you to advertise your blog for free. Yep. Now we’re talking! Whenever you drop cards on othe blogs, or people drop cards on yours, you earn points which you can invest in advertising space on blogs that use Entrecards.

At the same time, other people can advertise on your blog. If you have a blog which you would like to monetize or are looking for other avenues of monetizing your blog besides writing for a fee, playing with Entrecardad spaces allows you to determine where’s the best spot for you to display ads, what type of advertisers are interested in your blog and how fast you can “sell” your ad space.

If you have a blog, established or still trying to break into the big league, give it a try, at the very least, you’ll have tons and tons of information to write about. It’s a great arena to visit blogs, drop your Entrecards, earn points and advertise on other blogs for free [well, money free at least].

Entrecards has done some upgrades [hoooray!] and one of the cool things I like is the “Drop Rank”. It shows how active you are in advertising your blog. My drop rank says “A dedicated dropper with a hint of addiction”. Teehee! Hey, at least my potential advertisers know I advertise myself so that they’d also get the exposure they deserve =)

Of course, in order to attract droppers, advertisers and plain visitors you have to have an eye catching “business card”. How you view your blog also comes out in the way you present yourself to your potential subscribers and advertisers.

Other upgrades include better dashboard where the last 15 droppers are displayed and “pops out” when you mouse over them,

a new inbox,

and newsfeed of your favorite entrecard member blogs.

So, have you checked out Entrecard yet? Gaaaaah.

I started tonight. It is additcing. I have to stop now and get to bed. Each time I try to stop there are more blogs added to my dropped cards though. :D

Maria says: too true! It’s a good way to meet other bloggers and a great way to promote your blog … so keep on dropping =)
