Feel The Love In New York

It’s that time again when I have to renew my passport and go to my nearest embassy [which happens to be in New York] to do it in less than half a day. Actually, I don’t need to go, I can just mail it right. But I miss New York city.

I miss the Manhattan Skyline. The ride on Long Island RailRoad. Dunkin Donuts and coffee on a freezing morning in Woodside. Watching old people doze off in St. Patricks … rushing to catch the Acela Express out to Boston … the stench of 42nd Street underground … the chaotic scene at LaGuardia … hopping on the PATH train to get a haircut in New Jersey … ahhh the sweet and senseless time of singleton. Gaaaaah.

If you’re near enough, why not hop on a train and visit New York city. No, it’s not over rated, it really is a happening city [though I am surprised to be walking one VERY early morning around Bryant Park and it felt so deserted], and if all you’ve done before is do the “touristy” stuff, then this time around, be a traveler. Well, unless you want the touristy picture taking stuff, then you can contact Trusted Tours and Attractions for family vacation ideas and book your New York city tours. And while you’re at it, subscribe to http://www.trustedtours.com newsletter and get the chance to win a Canon Powershot digital camera. That should round up your tour necessities.

When my mom decided to visit New York, she thought she’d be getting the grand touristy stuff right? Well, apart from the shopping, Empire State Building and Manhattan Cruise, it’s a budget New Yorker’s tour teehee. That means WALKING. Yes, I made my almost 60-year old mom walk from Grand Central all the way to Bloomingdales and she loved it.

So next time you go to the big apple, walk NYC with your friends, they will fall in love with the city all over. Visit Chinatown, Little Italy, Greenwich Village, nix the taxis and hop on the subway criss-crossing Manhattan, grab coffee in the greek neighborhood of Astoria, etc etc etc. Discover New York all over.
