Silkfair.com - Online Marketplace

You know how when you look up a product to buy online, it’s sometimes frustrating when you see a flat image and when you hit “enlarge” it does not return a great blow up picture or does not have any at all?

SILKFAIR has created an online marketplace where would-be merchants can set up their accounts for free and choose to upload their products with video. So you don’t only get a flat picture of a product but you’ll also be presented with video of the product you’re interested in enhancing buyer experience and for seller, putting your products in a better light [depending on how well you put together your video that is].

You need to be a member to buy, and like I said, membership is free. But with your account, you can also set up your own marketplace within the community. This is a fairly new web site but it has nice potential when the community grows.

The difference with other online marketplace? It’s almost like Etsy but with enhancements in seller profiles. The layout is clean and it uses tabbed browsing which separates sections on Store Home, New Products, About, Feedback, Blogs [very SEO important!], Forums & a Contact form.

Oh, one of the nifty things I noticed as I was browsing the stores was the ability to “color search” but I’m not too sure this is functioning properly yet.
