Why Are You EntreCard-ing?
Everyday that I check my EC inbox, I’m thrilled to see new 125×125 banners on my dashboard, proof that never before seen bloggers had been busy dropping and had stopped by my blog to drop their ECs.
Then I wonder, is it for socializing or to earn credits so they can advertise? There are sites out there right now bragging they can provide you with speed-dropping … why do you need to speed drop? It IS nice to be on top of the lists, you get easily noticed eh. Yeah, I used to drop, drop drop .. drop till my laptop dropped dead from exhaustion processing all my requests. Good thing it’s a sturdy, hardy little bugger and revived after restarting.
I have dropped 300 cards at one time and then I found some really good blogs that made me pause and I was like, Oh F! My drops are done and I want to let them know I exist! My turbo-dropping really slowed down as I come across entertaining and/or useful sites where I spend a lot of time reading through their entries.
My traffic too has skyrocketed since joining Entrecard. From the hundreds to the thousands. Weeeee! But that’s not the most important thing for me, I actually saw a rise in my regular readers and met new “internet friends”. Enough to even hold my first Ad contest. My blog has suddenly become relevant. Hoooray for Entrecard!
So it’s almost sad to come across ECs that are “Just here for the view” … as if saying, I want you to see me but that’s about it. Much like going to a see-and-be-seen eatery but not bothering to drop your card in the fishbowl out front. Natch, I just want them to see my new “do”, perhaps whisper about me, oh yeah, maybe they can order me a drink too, but don’t hold your breathe, I don’t plan on returning the favor.
So why did you join Entrecard and what has it done for you?

I’m all about networking these days and getting people to come to my site. I honestly don’t care of people purchase anything, but to let me know that my work is good and creative is all I’m looking for. I hope that I can inspire someone else to create beautiful things for themselves or as gifts. I haven’t turbo dropped because a lot of time I do stop and check things out at other blogs.

I don’t even remember why I joined but I LOVE it. I have found some incredible blogs including pet rescue blogs that I’m in love with. And I like your blog too.
I definitely don’t try to go through as fast as I can because then I might miss out on great blogs.
I do like that one ‘beer hopping’ (whatever it’s called) site that allows me to browse through all Entre Card sites. It lets me skip through if it doesn’t look interesting and stop and browse if I do.
I love entre card much for the same reasons you’ve discovered. I’m still sort of relatively new but i really enjoy some of the blogs and ideas that people come up with. It’s nice to get the traffic back too.
I drop between 200-300 cards a day, but I’m definitely no speed dropper! I have to check out the blogs I’m dropping on. Many times I find myself reading and then have to go back to make sure I actually dropped my card while I was there. Then, if I really like the site, I have to go see if they’re available to advertise on.
I probably spend way to much time on EC, but then again, I find it sad to think that many are only in it for the speed dropping. To each there own I guess!
I joined out of curiosity.. I was seeing the widgets all over the place and wondered what it was about. So I joined and wow, did I get hooked. I’ve joined all sorts of “in” things.. and this one really got me.
I make my drops and if I go over my 300, I leave comments, or I send a message through ec. I get enough drops daily now, that I can do my drops from my drop inbox, a little slower than the power dropping stuff I did for a couple weeks. I’ve got my system down now and I have fun at it.
I don’t always comment, but I always do a quick scan of titles and pictures. If it catches my eye, I read.. and if I have something to add, I comment. I’ve had a nice increase in traffic, but if I had to quit today, my site would be fine too. So, I look at entrecard as something fun and enjoyable.
I’m with you, so sad seeing the “Just here for the View”. I wonder.. did they just not “get it”?
It hasn’t seemed to get me anymore traffic, but I have found great sites from browsing the blogs on EC. Including yours!
I have only just joined Entrecard and I am enjoying finding blogs and websites I would never have come across otherwise! I have found your blog and now come here a lot!
Seeing as though I am new, I haven’t noticed an increase in traffic yet and being a freelance writer, working 3 blogs and 2 shop websites, looking after a baby and a husband, I just haven’t got the time to ‘powerdrop’. I prefer taking my breaks and looking at sites that actually interest me and ones I know I will return to at
Keep up the good work!
