I believe I’ve mentioned in the not distant past that Renuzit is having a home makeover contest. I hope at least some of you entered the chance to win the $20,000 home makeover in sync with the launch of Renuzit’s new TriScents electric scented oil freshener.

The contest is open to US residents and those wanting to join were asked to submit a video or photo of their family/home and an essay explaining why they deserve to win a home makeover with Tanya Meme – host of Emmy award winning show, “Sell this House”.

The submission phase is now over and ten semi-finalists have been chosen. So, okay, I don’t qualify because we’re just renting but I still visited the semi-finalist gallery to see the finalists and their stories [have I told you I'm a reality TV junkie. I'm a sucker for those home makeover stories too. BLEH].

Even though most of the entrants have submitted videos, I picked the one who is just starting out as a family in their new home but who had the unfortunate work of having to replace the carpet and make the place suitable for baby.

I certainly know it feels [and SMELLS] to have dinky carpet and nothing worked to make it any better. Our previous rental house had those really awful carpet that the landlord just refuses to change. Even when we offered to lay new flooring [pergo], he was still iff-y, probably because he’d rather we give him the money than put it in the house. Bah.

Anyway, we’re out of that house and in a smaller  place but the carpeting is great and it’s WARMER which is a big plus when you have a baby.
