The Quick Brown Fox …
I always hated those typing exams especially during those first years of being a “professional office slave”. And then Microsoft came up with speech recognition embedded in its OS. Yeah, sure, like it worked. Not exactly.
Then I began blogging … and travelling … and becoming a mom … and the crazy adventures in between! I always promised hey, I’m going to write me a novel entitled “Surviving Me” (oh! should I have just revealed that?!). But I’m no problogger Darren Rowse, I always forget to carry a notebook with me, much less write as quick to capture my thoughts.
’cause let’s face it, some of the best ideas sometimes come up in quite inopportune times, like when you’re doing number 2 in the bathroom. Bleh.
Anyway, I saw this opp about a speech recognition software that is really interesting. It’s called Dragon Naturally Speaking speech recognition software. I mean, it translates your words into text at the speed of well, your speech.
I took the test and I sucked at the Dragon’s typing speed test!

And then I thought, hey how cool is this thing? Just imagine all the multitasking blog entries I can do. I can now create a 200-300 word article in like nothing flat! Would my blogs love that or what.
So I mentioned it to the big R who actually have tried it in the past and was actually impressed. Cool. But then again, you can also check other Dragon Reviews here.
Oh yes, this is one opp you can go back and ask me for an update because I am getting myself one of this thingie. Hands down I’m picking the PC version over the Mac version. We have both machines but I heart Bill Gates more than Steve Jobs (yeah sure, I’ve had work done on my laptop at least twice in the last three years. Nothing stays young and fresh forever).
I might even enter their Novel writing contestusing Dragon NaturallySpeaking for NaNoWrimo. NanoWrimo is a novel writing contest that starts on November 1.
Do watch these two videos for more information. And take that typing test for *bleep* and giggles … if only to be confronted by the ever present “the quick brown fox jump over the … (gazillion animals) =)
