Seriously. 1923 prices even. When the then New Yankee stadium came up in time for the NY Yankees – Boston Red Sox game where Babe Ruth batted and sent the Red Sox home winless.

This time around, with a spanking new stadium, they’re doing it again. Maybe for good luck?

Why is this news to me and you? Well, a lot of people out there are Yankees fans. And it’s still within my recent buzzword : DISCOUNT.

Nevermind that this pricing (bleacher goes for 25 cents, somwhere a little nearer than that could go for a dollar ten cents and so on and so on) only applies to the April 3 – 4 (2009) New York Yankees – Chicago Cubs exhibition game and would probably retail for a gazillion thousands of dollars for regular season. It’s still a quarter to get your baseball fix and be among the firsts to watch at the new stadium.

Heard it received public financing. Bah! It should be free!

But I guess picking the $180 million tab for Mark Teixeira to join them means they have to charge crazy fans more.

Oh well. Back to perusing end of season mega sales …

What are you doing for Christmas Eve?
