Support The Heroes At Home Program

They are soldiers. They never get to have a say when, where or how they are deployed. They enlist for a variety of reasons but for most of these soldiers what matters most is protecting their family and making them happy this Christmas.

I may find myself wallowing in self-pity for a minute but then my son stirs, calls out for mama, and I get to tuck him back to bed. How many soldier moms are out there this Christmas, wishing they’re home tucking their babies in bed, reading them a bedtime story, giving them a bubble bath …

Sears have launched the heroes at home Wish Registry program to help military families’ wishes come true this Christmas and they invite you to give a donation and give something back to those who’ve been serving in the name of the country (USA).

The most popular registry items (not surprisingly) are things for children - shoes, pajamas, pants, sweater.

We know that for all the lure of big money and attractive post-service bonuses, military personnel often find themselves deep in debt, having no means to support the family except through their paycheck which often is not enough to cover expenses of a growing family. They get taken advantage by loan sharks, they get buried in years of school loans .. and on top of that, they never know if they’ll be shipped out on a loved one’s special day.

Here’s a chance to pull out that oft-folded and tucked away dollar and help somebody feel a little bit more special this holiday season.

It has to be noted that your donation is not tax deductible and donations will be distributed equally to all registered military families (30,000+)  via a Sears gift card.

You can give a dollar, ten dollars, or whatever amount you can. It’s pure giving, nothing in return but the feeling that you are somebody’s Santa.

The Heroes at Home program was established by Sears to provide support to military personnel and veterans with the help of various non-profit organizations. This Christmas, every American is given the opportunity to give something back to the heroes who are enlisted in the military to serve the country.
