Despite the bad economy, or mostly because of it, pawn shops, dollar stores and pay day loan services are doing brisk business.

This morning I there’s another article on Reuters UK about AIG poised to yet again receive another round of bailout money from the US government. You know, it really astounds me how much money the US has and still manage to have trillion dollar deficits, gazillion debts to the world bank, bankrupt states and doggone stubborn about pinning hopes of an economic revival on the housing and consumer market which basically started their downfall. Oh well, what do I know, I almost didn’t make it through economics (for lack of trying mind you ).

Anyway, pissed people of the world (ie., US tax payers) take heart … AIG do need to be bailed out or it will still be disastrous for you and me because banks and other financial entities around the world have their finger in so deep in AIG pie that a collapse now is going to be like the straw that broke the camel’s back so to speak.

Anyway, on another note, Pay Day Loans. They’re becoming ultra ultra popular no? Why, even last Thanksgiving I knew of somebody who just had to go to a payday loan centre to cash her check … so she could go shopping on Black Friday. There you go, a truly patriotic taxpayer trying to shore up the economy through frantic spending =)

A note of consideration, it’s short term loan intended as a band aid solution. The money problem will still come up but, in this case, prolonging the situation in order to find a better solution is acceptable. Just make sure you don’t get trapped into this kind of habit or else it will cost you a mountain avalanche of trouble. Short term gains … long term loss…
