I have friends with dogs, everyone seems to want dogs for pets where I live in Cape Cod. Somebody asks me, so are you getting a puppy for junior?

Hmmmnn. I don’t think so.

Don’t get me wrong. I like dogs. Hell, us kids like them so much we used to have 15 [white] japanese spitz, 1 purebred doberman and one mixed rottweiler doberman. The spitz are divalicious, with mother poochie reigning supreme over all and nikko the “lion” vain white male strutting around taunting barney the doberman every chance he got.

The small dogs play with the huge rabbits [probably thinks they're of the same kind] who multiply by the second it seems, with their horribly nippy high pitched voice while our doberman tries to find peace and quiet in vain.

At some point or another, some were adopted by my sister who built a house at the end of the property, and the others passed away eventually but not before Barney the doberman and Nikko the vain white tiny spitz had an all out throw down. The stupid spitz thought just because Barney never bothered to fight back all those times he yips and bites him, he could get away with anything. Sad to say, my hardy doberman snapped and with it NIkko’s neck. OUCH!

It was fun to have so many dogs. But the smell! Oh the horrible smell specially when the monsoon comes [rainy season in the Philippines]. They smell nice in the summer, but then there were fleas that always manage to come back when you let up in their grooming. Eeew!

Back then there were already vanilla scented dog shampoos and stuff but I guess it hasn’t reached that level of science and research like the dog toiletries and other pampering concoctions like Dinovite that we find today.

These days, back home we only have a chocolate lab, a golden retriever, a feisty tiny thing [lol, those brown things with pointy ears] and a couple of mutts.

It’s monsoon again and the bigger dogs STINK even if you wash them twice a week. And the smell carries on. The baby doesn’t mind, he just loves running after them seeing that we don’t have one in Cape Cod [we're still vacationing].

The maid, in her exasperation, wanted to run them through a carwash [ha ha] but I promised her I’d send some dog shampoo to make them smell like flowers.

So seroiously, if you have smelly dogs, you might want to check Dinovite dog shampoos. It does not only take away the smell but helps to keep your dog smelling nice longer while working as a natural flea deterrent. The one thing I like about this product is that it supposedly does not have perfumes or fillers or chemicals to irritate or dry your dog’s skin. Yes, not even those lavender or peppermint scented ones.

AND. This is important, specially if, like us, you live in small/rural towns, Dinovite dog shampoo eliminates skunk odor in one washing. Trust me, I’ve come across somebody who just narrowly missed geting sprayed by a surprised skunk and the smell outside our house was awful. Like somebody ate rotten potatoes and farted their hearts out. Ha ha.
